Hosted By: DeAnna Sheets
Project Dates: September 2, 2008-November 7, 2008
Grade Level: 1st-6th Grades
Project Steps:
-Students will survey adults to find out why they choose certain candidates. What values and stances do they look for in a candidate.
-Using that information the class will then create one mock candidate that they believe would win the election in their area.
-Students and teachers will upload the information about their candidate to the project wiki where others can learn about their mock candidate.
-Students should include the following information about their mock candidate:
*Create a picture of your candidate
*Create a profile of the candidate (age, gender, ethnicity, and work experience).
*What does your candidate promise to do for America?
*Create your candidate's campaign symbol (used on bumper stickers, buttons, etc)
*Create a campaign slogan for your candidate
*What are the key issues in which your candidate believes.
|
-All of these things and anything else your class would like to include will be uploaded to the project wiki (don't worry directions and help will be given using a wiki if you are unsure), and the last week of the project we will hold an election. All students will be able to log on and vote for the candidate of their choice.
