Classroom Standards

A variety of standards could be met depending on the amount of time, and technology you use throughout the project. The project is set up so that many technological tools and ability levels can participate.

NETS (National Education Technology Standards)

1st-2nd Grade
-Illustrate and communicate original ideas and stories using digital tools and media-rich
resources.
-Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through e-mail and other
electronic means.
-Find and evaluate information related to a current or historical person or event using
digital resources.
-Demonstrate the safe and cooperative use of technology.
-Demonstrate the ability to navigate in virtual environments such as electronic books,
simulation software, and Web sites.


3rd-5th Grade

-Use digital-imaging technology to modify or create works of art for use in a digital
presentation.
-Conceptualize, guide, and manage individual or group learning projects using digital
planning tools with teacher support.
-Identify and investigate a global issue and generate possible solutions using digital tools and
resources.


6th Grade
-Gather data, examine patterns, and apply information for decision making using digital
tools and resources.
-Participate in a cooperative learning project in an online learning community.

Grade Level Standards from Missouri GLEs (Grade Level Expectations)

Below are just some of the Social Studies Standards that will be met many other standards including reading, writing, and even math (collecting and analyzing data) will be met.

Social Studies

-Explain and apply the concept of majority rule. (Grade 2)
-List the rights and responsibilities of citizens (Grade 1)
-Explain the rights of citizens (Grade 2)
-Discuss and apply responsibilities of citizens (Grade 3)
-Identify important principles in the Bill of Rights, and basic rights and freedoms (Grade 4 & 5)
-Identify responsibilities that governments and citizens need to accept to become effective in a
